Newcastle local, Steve Wright recently returned home with a ‘second’ place medal having taken part in the seniors’ category of the Dorchester (half) Marathon in the UK.
The race took place on the 28th May in the region of Dorset (South East of London).
Steve ran against approximately 700 other contestants in his category and dug deep throughout the tough 21km countryside course narrowly missing out on first place as he tried to chase down the race leader.
Steve trained hard running 40kms per week along with gym work leading up to the race, but loves a challenge. When he’s not out running, you’ll find Steve keeping busy managing the delightful Jenny MacLeod Retirement Village in Wallsend where he also encourages residents to keep active.
